Gueuze & fruit beers are brewed by spontaneous fermentation in a region south-west of Brussels (called Pajottenland). Local bacteria unique to the region give these beers their slightly acidic flavour which is unparalleled amongst other Belgian beers. Those brewed with fruit are particularly renowned for adding a softer edge to the range of beers Belgium has to offer. Enjoy the uniqueness of their flavour and try not to focus too much on the word bacteria – nowhere else in the world makes beers like this!
